But even then, those had more features than this jacket. Just a simple hooded mid layer, which were in the $150 range. I would say this is the replacement for the Desna jackets I have purchased in the past from MHW. Again, it is a nice piece, I just don't think paying full price is warranted for how stripped down and basic the piece is. This is something I will wear and the material will perform in the situations I put myself in. I described it to my wife as the equivalent to a hooded sweatshirt, I gave all my normal hooded sweatshirts away because I wasn't wearing them. Sure, it is a nice simple piece to add to a lightweight layering system. No cinch at the bottom to tighten it up from any drafts, or the wind blowing, no hood cinch, no inside pockets, it has a hood, it has two hand pockets and that is about it. It is soft and comfortable, but it is just the most basic piece as you will ever find, there isn't anything really worth mentioning, it is a stripped down Kor Strata jacket. FEATURES of the Mountain Hardwear Women's Kor Strata Jacket. The version used in this review will be out in the Fall of 2019.It is a nice jacket, it just doesn't warrant the $224 full price. I have been testing the Kor Strata Hoody for 3 months at the time of this review. I found this to be a great jacket for backcountry touring in temps of 20-40 degrees. It does its job of providing wind resistance, slight warmth, and breathability and does so very well. You get two hand pockets, a hood, and a functional fit. There are not a lot of features with the Kor Strata Hoody. The hood fits over a hat for touring or over my head, just fine. The hand pockets, although small, are placed high enough to be used with a backpack. The sleeves are long enough for full coverage and the hem is long enough to keep snow and wind out of the backside. The XL that Mountain Hardwear sent over fit my 6’1″ 205 frame well. The Gold Active insulation in the body does a great job of providing just the right amount of warmth while dumping extra heat. Think backcountry skiers, splitboarders, fat bikers, etc. It works! For those of you who are active in cool to cold temps, this kind of kit is for you. This segment of outerwear is growing for a reason. It might seem counterintuitive, but this is actually a great idea.
